Tables will be set up in the high school cafeteria.  Lunches begin at 11:49 and end at 1:26. Students will be allowed to visit the tables and ask questions about resources available to them. Parents are also invited to come visit during their lunch break.

Online registration closes at noon (local time) the Friday before the walk. However, anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the walk from the time check-in begins until the walk starts. Registration is free and open to the public. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.

When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.

Thanks to Walkers and Donors like you, AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025.

China Spring ISD: Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Youth Mental Health First Aid USA is an 8-hour public education program introducing participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, building understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaching individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Mental Health First Aid uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care.
